Can God Trust You With More

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much."
Luke 16:10

Most of us have asked God for more.

More influence.
More opportunities.
More finances.
More impact.
More responsibility.

But have you ever stopped to ask a different question?

Can God trust me with more?

It's a question we rarely ask because it's uncomfortable. We'd rather focus on what we're waiting to receive than who we're becoming while we wait.

We Pray for Promotion

We pray for the business to grow.

We pray for the ministry to expand.

We pray for more customers, more followers, more open doors, and more opportunities.

None of those prayers are wrong.

But God isn't simply interested in giving us more. He's interested in preparing us to steward more.

Because more influence without more character eventually becomes a burden.

Promotion Doesn't Create Character

It Reveals It.

Pressure has a way of exposing what comfort can hide.

Money doesn't create greed.
Influence doesn't create pride.
Leadership doesn't create impatience.

They simply reveal what was already there.

That's why God often develops your character long before He expands your platform.

He isn't delaying your blessing.

He's protecting it.

Faithfulness Isn't Measured by Size

Sometimes we think faithfulness starts when we have the big opportunity.

"When I have more money, I'll be generous."

"When my business grows, I'll have more integrity."

"When I have employees, I'll become a better leader."

But Scripture teaches the opposite.

Faithfulness begins with what's already in your hands.

How do you handle your current responsibilities?

Do you keep your word?

Do you honor your commitments when no one is watching?

Do you steward today's opportunities with the same excellence you're expecting tomorrow?

Because if we aren't faithful with what we have today, why would God entrust us with more tomorrow?

Stop Measuring Your Life Against Someone Else's

It's easy to look around and wonder why someone else seems to be moving ahead.

They launched after you.

They have less experience.

Their business is growing.

Their ministry is expanding.

Their influence is increasing.

Comparison causes us to focus on someone else's assignment instead of stewarding our own.

God has never asked you to manage someone else's calling.

He's asking you to faithfully manage yours.

Sometimes the Delay Is the Preparation

What feels like a delay may actually be God's mercy.

Imagine receiving everything you've prayed for before your character was ready to sustain it.

Many people lose what they prayed for because they never became the person capable of carrying it.

God isn't only preparing your blessing.

He's preparing you.

That process often happens quietly, in ordinary days that feel unnoticed.

But heaven notices.

Every act of obedience matters.

Every unseen sacrifice matters.

Every faithful decision matters.

Ask a Better Question

Instead of asking:

"God, when will You give me more?"

Try asking:

"God, what are You teaching me with what You've already given me?"

That one question changes everything.

Because when your focus shifts from getting more to stewarding well, your heart begins to align with His.

A Prayer

Father,

Help me stop chasing what I'm not yet prepared to carry.

Teach me to be faithful in the ordinary moments, the unseen work, and the responsibilities You've already placed before me.

Develop my character before You expand my influence.

Make me trustworthy, not just successful.

May I become someone You can confidently entrust with more because I have learned to faithfully steward what You've already given me.

Reflection Questions

• Am I more focused on receiving more or stewarding what I already have?
• Where has God already entrusted me with responsibility that I've overlooked?
• What area of my character might God be developing before opening my next door?
• If God answered every prayer I've prayed this year today, would I truly be ready to steward it well?

More isn't always the blessing.

Sometimes becoming the person who can faithfully carry more is the greater miracle.
